November 14, 2015

In the months of October to December, I made more than half of my annual turnover. All clients want to get something done or move their projects forward before the end of the year. I have a marathon of appointments, not only at my office, but also with the clients. I always have big folders with me. Now I manage that easily – I am trained, because I went to the gym three times a week since June!

Again and again, the staff and colleagues give me documents to decide on. The corresponding files are not with me. After the appointments, I put all these loose documents on the desk in addition to my notes, on which an ever-higher pile of loose documents forms. After a short while, I know how to retrieve documents from the layers of sediment on my desk. I should have studied archaeology, that might have prepared me for this. It took me all day to sort out the loose documents!

Have you ever felt like an archaeologist of loose documents? What did you do?
